๐ In John chapter 19 today we see the darkest hour and most horrific injustice in human history, as the Son of God, Sinless Savior, and King of kings is crucified for the sins of the worldโฆ
โAnd Jesus went out, bearing His own cross, to an area called the Place of a Skull, which in Aramaic is called Golgotha. There they crucified Him” (vs 17).
Q. What kind of a King deliberately endures terrible hunger and thirst, so that His enemies will never hunger or thirst again?
Q. What kind of a King willingly chooses to die the death of a criminal, in order to pardon and liberate multitudes of people who are fully deserving of death?
Q. Amazing love how can it be, that my King would die for a rebel like me?
๐ Heavenly Father we thank you so much for your sovereign grace and redemptive plan of mercy, to send your own Son to live the righteous life that we could not live, and sacrificially die the torturous death that we, as sinners, deserve.
๐ King Jesus we praise you today that you gave up your Spirit so that we could have it forever, and that you chose to endure the greatest injustice imaginable, so that all who put their trust in you could hear and receive the greatest words ever spokenโฆ
โ๏ธ “Jesus said, ‘I thirst’, so they brought the mixture on a hyssop branch, and when He had received the sour wine He said,
‘IT IS FINISHED’, and He bowed His head and gave up His Spirit.”
